Alrihkh A very good thought-provoking album that is an ear-pleasing hybrid of several genres (prog-rock, acid folk, early psych rock, and more). I hear similarities to Steven Wilson, the Beatles, Stuart Gray, & the Pineapple Thief. The sum of its observations make for an interesting listen. John’s musical ideas are expressed in a pleasantly uncluttered way & the lyrics are down to Earth & meaningful. Picking a fave is hard, as a number vie for the honour. Thanks, John! More, please!
8+/10. Favorite track: Stay Away From The Dark.

Phyberock Un super bon rock prog acoustique planant et relaxant.

Sven B. Schreiber (sbs) KingBathmat, Arcade Messiah, SΔCRED ΔPE... all of those music projects are essentially John Bassett. On the first album issued under his own name, the music is much more calm and quiet, usually based on acoustic guitar and lush harmony vocals. In this soft context, somewhat in the vein of 70's Pink Floyd, John Bassett's excellent songwriting capabilities can get much better expression than in his harder, noisier projects. The download includes an 8-page booklet in JPEG format. Favorite track: Something That's More Worthwhile.

Michael Reilly Dreamy prog-rock debut featuring a very solid collection of acoustic tunes. I like John's songwriting and voice, which perfectly suit the personal topics – much like Steven Wilson in many ways (a really good thing!). Favorite track: Something That's More Worthwhile.

Russell Whyman An enjoyable collection of brilliantly written, mainly acoustic prog songs. This debut album is well put together and presents John's performances well.
